Faith Partnership and Solidarity (FPS)

This newly-formed thematic program aims to heighten the response of religious organizations regarding migrant concerns, especially in the area of human rights and basic welfare. It is interfaith in character and reaches out to as diverse a spectrum of religions and denominations, binding them to a common goal of furthering the sectoral interests of labor migrants in the whole Asia Pacific region.

Thus far, it has held a series of activities called “Interfaith Dialogue on the Well-Being of Diaspora (Migrant Workers) in Hong Kong” that seek to promote understanding between migrants and local communities they live in. It is also developing its advocacy thrusts on the issue of migrants incarcerated in receiving countries (“migrants-in-jail”), with the objective of providing timely and effective intervention to such cases that are neglected by sending-country governments.
