Hope Hero Awardee, Cynthia Abdon Tellez!

APMM congratulates Mission For Migrant Workers’s general manager for being awarded the Hope Hero. The Hope Hero Awards celebrates individuals who, through their selfless actions, have made a positive impact on the lives of people in their communities. This recognition extends to Filipinos making a difference globally who dedicate their time, resources, and creativity to uplift and enrich the lives of others, earning well-deserved acknowledgment as true champions for good.

Cynthia Abdon Tellez played a crucial role in establishing the Mission For Migrant Workers, having been involved since its inception in 1981. She contributed to the development of all the organization's programs, which continue to serve migrant workers.

Under Cynthia's leadership, the Mission expanded its focus from solely assisting Filipinos to supporting individuals of other nationalities. The rebranding to the Mission For Migrant Workers reflects this shift, embracing a more inclusive approach.

Migrants in distress who received assistance from the Mission were empowered to become leaders in the organizations they established. These groups are now actively involved in assisting fellow migrants and advocating for their rights and welfare.

Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the Mission remains committed to serving migrants anywhere and anytime. It continually explores innovative ways to provide essential services to migrant workers.

Congratulations to Cynthia for her outstanding contributions!
