Advocacy and Campaigns

The Advocacy and Campaigns Program of the APMM supports the development and implementation of an advocacy and campaign strategy for migrants, focusing on their rights and welfare in circular migration, analysing policy gaps, drafting policy briefs, and identifying and building relationships with key stakeholders. It engages with NGOs and other formations in civil society as well as the United Nations, multilateral institutions, and governmental actors, among others to ensure up-to-date information and policy analyses on the situation, challenges and other issues of migrants in the region.

What we do

Under Advocacy and Campaigns Program, the APMM assists in the capacity development of migrant organisations and communities in their advocacy and campaigns initiatives while coordinating activities, outputs and outcomes of other APMM program activities. Some of the specific initiatives include engagement in the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM) as well as support for national campaigns in coordination with our local partners.

Engagement in the GCM

We works closely with migrants, migrants’ rights advocates and other civil society in their lobbying and engagement for migrants’ rights in Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM), the Agenda 2030, the Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD), and other spaces related to people’s development, migration and human rights.

National Campaigns

We support and coordinate with our partner organisations in the Asia Pacific and Middle East regarding their ongoing national and local campaigns and advocacy initiatives.
