APMM to Hold its First Ever Regional Migrants’ Summit in June

This coming June 20 to 21, APMM and the Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD) are holding the first ever Regional Migrants’ Summit in Quezon City, Philippines!

The Summit will gather migrants, advocates, civil society organizations, academics, members of faith-based organizations, and other individuals and groups to discuss migration issues related to neoliberal globalization, migration governance, temporary migrant work, migrant domestic work, gender, and migrants’ rights and movement.

A major feature of the Summit are paper presentations that will tackle pressing issues that migrants and advocates face regularly. Through discussions from various individuals and organizations with different backgrounds, the Summit seeks to widen and deepen the understanding of different migrant-related issues in Asia Pacific. And ultimately, the event hopes to be a stepping stone in propelling further the struggle and movement of migrants within and beyond the region.
